This book is a not no average diet and recipe book. It has a humorous in depth description of what they have dubbed the The Rick and Bubba "hey you gotta live" (non) diet. The book is hard to put down and keeps you laughing all the way though.
The chapters are short, sweet, and funny. The only reason I had to stop reading was to share an excerpt aloud. It is the perfect book for someone that loves food and can appreciate the lighter side of eating. The stories are punctuated with a series of rules and lists like never to be broken rules of the pot-luck and The bun/hotdog treaty of 2010.
There is a section of recipes that are simply mouthwatering, you will be in the kitchen in no time whipping one up. The "down home" feel of the recipes will make you think of your Grandma's famous dish and all those Church pot-lucks.
At a mere 214 pages I think it could have been longer, just as I was really getting into it the book was done. I enjoyed the pictures, there were just enough to show you what kind of guys Rick and Bubba are. They share some fun stories but still make their point: "Eating is an art...an event...an experience."
